YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN

This week I was on a shopping trip and as I went round I felt prompted to send a simple message to someone to let them know that I was thinking and praying for them and it led me to ask the question - Why did I do it? What was the purpose behind the message? Having thought and pondered on it for a while, it came to me. It was to show that person that they are valued and loved. That they are not forgotten.

Sometimes in our lives, when we are going through those places of deepest darkness, we can think that God has completely abandoned us. That he has forgotten us at times and yet we are reminded in Isaiah 44 v 21:

"Remember these things, Jacob, for you, Israel are my servant; Israel, I will not forget you"

God not only remembers us but promises to be with us always. He is with you before, during and after the storm. He is a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46 v 1).

God has not forgotten you. May you draw near to him and reach out to him in faith today and just as God loves, values and has not forgotten us, may we as his followers be open to the promptings of the Spirit that our love for God may flow out in our love for people. May we show people that they are valued and loved - be it through a phone call, a catch up over coffee (other drinks are available), some flowers or a simple text message. Who knows the blessing they might receive in that simple act of reaching out to them? Wherever we are and whatever we are doing may we be about ‘God’s Kingdom business’ and may God use us for his glory that others would know they are loved, valued and not forgotten by the King of Kings.

Amen.
