Matthew 27:62-66. THE WORLD GREW QUIET. JESUS LAID IN THE TOMB AS IT WAS GUARDED AND SEALED WITH A STONE
Saturday, as Jesus body lay in the tomb the disciples went back to their homes. It was the sabbath, so it was a day of rest, a time of stillness.
The emotions they must have felt, great sadness, regret, confusion, wondering what would happen next. Were they echoing the words of Jesus as he was on the cross “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
These emotions the disciples felt, we can all relate to in the face of great loss and tragedy.
When we are full of disappointment and doubt we ask many questions to God. We often want to rush past this point, but it is important to use this time to contemplate, process and heal. This is a time to trust and lean in to God in the darkness and wait on him.
So in the darkness remember, the best is yet to come!
Keep holding on with the faith that he will restore, heal and shine his light in to your life.
