OUR LOVING FATHER

Have you ever felt so lonely or depressed that all you ever wanted was a hug or embrace?
Jesus told a parable - which is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. In the parable called 'The Prodigal Son', Jesus told about a father who had two sons, the younger son asked for his share of the inheritance and when he received it, he went away. He spent all his money on parties and had lots of 'friends', but when the money was gone - so were they!
There was famine in the land and he ended up feeding the pigs - a job that was the lowest of the low! Then he realised that his father's servants were looked after better than he was - so he decided to gone home to his father and say he was sorry and he wasn't worthy to be his son, but ask him to let him be a servant.
So he went on the long, weary journey, while he was still a long way from home his father saw him, he didn't wait for his son to come to him but he ran to his son and he hugged him - just what he needed - to feel wanted and loved. The father told his servants to dress him and kill a fatted calf for him because his son had returned and he gave a big party to celebrate.
This parable can also be called 'The Loving Father', the father represents God and the young son - us. Jesus told the story to help people understand that God forgives us when we ask Him to. He wants to have a relationship with us.
If you are feeling lost, lonely, depressed or anxious - then come to the Father (God) He is waiting. Confess your sins (say sorry) and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour and have a personal relationship with Him. He is longing for you to do this.
The bible says ... there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety nine righteous people who do not need to repent! (Luke 15:7).
Come and rest in the Father's embrace.
